If you are a nature lover, the magnificent Pelion will seduce you. The Pelion is a heavily forested low mountain range of mountains on the east coast of mainland Greece halfway between Athens and Thessaloniki. According to legend, even the gods of Olympus were so overwhelmed by the beauty of Pelion that they chose it as their summer residence.
Not without reason it is considered to be one of the most beautiful natural paradises in Greece.
Heavenly beaches and dense deciduous forests of beech, chestnut, oak and plane trees that sometimes seem like a jungle. Breathtaking views of amazing natural beauties, crystal clear sea and turquoise waters, stunning romantic little villages, rich history and delicious local food. Because of its wild nature, the Pelion has been known since ancient times as the “herbal chamber” of Greece: In total, more than 1,000 different herbs grow here.
Pelion is a walker’s paradise and considered to be one of the greatest hiking areas in Greece.
